Message From The President
By David Willis Jr.

Brothers and Sisters, I am proud of the “5 Year” milestone we have accomplished! As many of you know or don’t know we chartered as a Lodge on July 10, 2001. On that first meeting, held at the American Legion, we only had 30 people in attendance and even had to “pass the hat” to pay for the hall. I don’t think people took our charter president Tom Willhite seriously when he and a few others, like Al Beindit, Stew Compton and Lynn Baumgarten wanted to start another lodge in this area. After I listened to Tom’s ideas, he was able to hook me and I have never regretted getting involved in this adventure. I think this was a great opportunity and over the past five years many good times have been had. Many new people have been introduced to the brotherhood, which was founded many years ago. The FOP stands as the largest police organization in the world, with over 318,000 plus members.

We have grown steadily and have over 350 members as of today. I have never enjoyed friendship and support as much as I have since becoming your lodge president. I hope I have served you proudly and that you are proud of me.

I sought re-election again this year to the State Lodge and maintained my position as your State 2nd Vice President. I think it is important that our lodge is involved in the State FOP, as we are the only lodge in the state that is still growing.

Again, I want to thank everyone and we will see you at the barbecue.

Fraternally Yours

The State FOP 2007 Super Raffle has been changed; A Lodge must now sell one raffle ticket for each member to get the $10.00 back per ticket sold. This means, we have to sell at least 353 tickets in order for the Lodge to receive $3530.00 back. This is a great fundraiser for us. So, we need every Member to buy a ticket and our Associate Members to step up and buy some also.

The Grand Prize is a 2007 Harley-Davidson Road King Motorcycle or $15,000.00 in cash, this goes along with a 2nd prize of $2,500.00 and a 3rd of prize of $1,500.00. Don’t forget there are 730 daily $25.00 prizes and 52 weekly $50.00 prizes. Even if you win, your ticket is thrown back into the barrel for other chances to win. You can buy tickets from Dennis Tomlian, Keith Ray, Dan Willis, Phil Abdoo or David Willis. For Members that can’t get to a meeting or see one of us, you can mail a check made out to the Lodge and send it to:

Secretary’s Report
By Matt Pecha

First with the official secretary stuff and not much to report, we continue to pay our state and national per capita tax on time and are up to date. The second half per capita will be in a few months and new
members will be added. We now have a total of 353 members.

Now with the fundraising information; our first three Texas Hold 'Em Tournaments went well but failed to raise much money. We'll re-evaluate at the end of the year to decide if we are going to continue with them. Our biggest fundraiser is the golf tournament, which will be held on August 25, 2006 at Bello Woods Golf Course on 23 Mile Road. Kelly Bohman and Mike Dedenbach have been working hard at getting this event organized, which is no easy task. We are hoping for 144 golfers and it will be a great day! Included is breakfast, lunch, steak dinner, drinks on the course and an open bar during dinner. There will be some great prizes for the raffle as well. We have to get the final count to the golf course by August 4th, so hurry up and register your foursome with Kelly, Mike, or me or contact any of the board officers for information. Be sure to support your lodge!

Hope to see you all at the Bar-b-que and the golf outing. Be Safe.

Treasurer’s Report
By Dennis Tomlian

I hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer. We just closed our 2005 fiscal year June 30th and started our 2006 fiscal year July 1st with a net worth of $37,234.16; this is a total of all our accounts including our 25-month CD. We need to build on this in the coming fiscal year; this is why we need everyone to help support our annual golf outing coming up on the 25th of August, as this is our main fundraiser for our charitable donations. Everyone out there knows at least one businessperson that would sponsor a hole for $100.00. How about you golfers, $125 to golf with full breakfast, drinks on the course, steak dinner and great raffle prizes. This is one heck of a deal and a great time. Help us have a successful outing so that we may give to deserving organizations; we want our name out there as the best FOP Lodge in the county if not the state.

The State Conference is over and our president David Willis Jr. won his election for 2nd Vice-President. It made me very proud to see how well respected our President is with lodges all over the state. With the exception of the State Lodge which does not like anyone who questions the "good ol boy" system. I am proud and honored to have him as our president and to have him on the state board.

Fraternally yours,
Dennis Tomlian, Treasurer

SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL!!!!
TEXAS HOLD ‘EM TOURNAMENTS

The Lodge is holding four tournaments in 2006. The tournaments are put on by and support by the Ways and Means Committee, which raises funds for member-related activities, as well as the Lodge itself.

The buy-ins will be $65.00, which includes a headhunter competition as well as all the food, pop and beer that you can stomach.

We are trying to maintain a $500 top prize and payouts for roughly 10% of the number of people playing. The number of participants will determine pay-outs/prizes. This is open to every one, so bring a friend.

Mark the following dates on your calendar: September 15th and November 10th

Come enjoy the fraternalism and support the Lodge.

Important Reminder:
Nominations are coming up for the 2007 Executive Board, if you are interested in a position and have any question, see a member of the board for some answers. You must have attended half of the years meetings up to the month of nomination to be eligible.
